( My ranting on Twitter about NCIS ep Legends (Part 2) )

NCIS made me angry, but not as angry as when my computer suddenly decided it didn't like my portable hard drive any longer. It's ok, and all my data's there, but it doesn't work at home. At work, and probs at Mark's, it's fine. I still have my NaNo stuff (which I lost from the main PC when the computer got sent away to be "repaired", which it wasn't, it's still fucking around). But I've lost a load of my fanfics that I had saved to Word, and a load of my old Kathryn Janeway theatrical_muse stuff... I mean, I still have the LJ account, but it's the principle of it.

Is it bad that I could remember the Welsh for principle but not the English? At least my shorts have arrived. If I have to shorten them... Meh. It's for under a tutu. Oh!

I've got a black and red tutu, but the stiching was going all wiggy, so I got mum to sew up the little hole that came from busted stiches and then I sewed on three black fabric flowers, you know, just to cover the join. It looks kinda lush. :D And I customised a top, just a line of sequins (I cheated, they were already in a row, I just sewed them on) and some lace (mum sewed that on; even my tacking is crap). So I'm going to a surprise party on Saturday (my cousin turned 40 either today or earlier on in the week), so I'm wearing a black and red outfit - black top (customised one), black and red tutu, black shorts, red tights with black fishnets over them (under the shorts) and hopefully my black Mary Janes (four inch heels with a platform that I used when I dressed up as an overweight Hermione - I had the tie when I couldn't find my "Slytherin" tie (my old school tie)). Hopefully it'll look cool, and I won't look like mutton dressed as lamb.

:: Looks shiftily :: deltadasher (my sister) is hopefully going as a pirate. I need her to go as a pirate, cause I won't have the confidence to dress up in that outfit cause normally I'm the one in jeans and a t-shirt, but the party is smart casual so... Yeah. Is that outfit (skirt etc) smart casual? Or just weird? @__@

And I need to find my hair dryer, cause when I wash my hair and blow dry it, it goes poofy, which rocks! :D

I'm almost tempted to go as Hermione now. It's not dress up, but I would look tidy.

Right, better get back to working properly. I just wanted to update as I haven't done so in ages (mostly cause the guy who had the net that Mark shared disconnected it without warning during Sunday night (into Monday morning) and tried to sneak move out without paying the gas bill he owes). Work.

Edit: Oh! And I've started reading New Moon cause Christopher Heyerdahl is in the movie version, and I have a bit of a, 'OMFG it's Todd!' squees for him. On chapter three and it was a slog. Oh well, I have something to read on the trip up at least.

There's a new ep of NCIS out and I can't download it because I'm on the minitop!!! :: Cries :: And Mark's out so I can't go round his until tomorrow cause his mum might be going over later... If not, downloading that eppy then and letting him watch when I go to the gym.

I've been bitching about fic on TWitter recently, cause most of my angst is a two second thing that comes from reading a fic that has Snape looking like Chakotay (seriously, what the hell?) or Lolita having an extra 'o' - Loloita. Even the Firefox spell checker is saying the second version is wrong! :: Heddesk ::

And to top it all off, the space bar on this is crappy! :(

So... I'm gonna watch last nights NCIS again. The new one, with the war game? OMG how good was that ep? Espesh the whole tension in the elevator scene? Eeeep!!! :D

My nails are wrecked. :( I got the fake nail extensions, the ones I couldn't type with (wait, that was a rant I had over on tinknevertalks at the start of the month... Meh), and they've been peeling off (ie I've been helping them...) and my nails are just fucked now. :( I need some clear varnish, just to make them look less bumpy and gross.

NaNo? Almost at 40k. Yaay me. :)

I've just burnt a bit of my hand taking pizza out of the over. Not for me, mind. For my brother, cause I said I'd make him dinner.

I forgot until now. So I had a sarnie (I don't feel hungry after about 8:30ish, unless I've not eaten anything decent, ie lunch, since 12:30) and I cooked up a pizza. Burnt my hand getting it out of the oven. This is why I don't like ovens...

Worst part? I can't remember how to treat a "wound" that's caused by hot metal against the skin. Is it run it under cold water or something else? Cause if it isn't the cold water one, I'm getting a blister on the top of my hand, just under the knuckles of my index and middle fingers. Joy(!)

So, now I go plan more NaNo. I have characters, a skill name and a serial killer who is up to no good... Now, to try and get carpet babies in.

OMFG!! NCIS!! Lee... Ziva... Tony... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!! Seriously, the first ep was good, and the second one was too! Like, with Miami, I was all like, 'Meh, whatever' about the second episode of season six, but the NCIS gods of writing have kept it up! I am so bloody happy that it's all been kept good, and I honestly can't wait for the story arc to continue in regards to info leak person!!!

That's ok... But giving it to me at 2:10 in the afternoon? That's just torture!!! I just had moments of squealing, 'I wanna open my presents!!' but I've been good. Not opened any presents or cards... I do want my prezzies though.

Going out tomorrow night. Cocktails at the Kingshead. Shall be fun! :D

PS NCIS people, over at vampiesicons I've made 123 NCIS icons... If you wanna have a nosy...

So the funeral was Friday. The priest/vicar dude had said like a few things about how he knew the family (cause I think he was the dude who did uncle Steve's funeral, but I wasn't there, so I'm not sure) then he started talking about grandad and I just felt tears just welling up... My Lord is My Shepherd started, and I just cried from there until about halfway through the next talking bit... Thought I was ok. Fucking Calon Lan got me didn't it? Then mum made me laugh a bit during Bread of Heaven (yaay choirs), but I was basically a total washout... Mark actually winced at one point I had his hand held so hard. :(

The wake was good. Sat with Jake, Ru and Mark... Then we moved over to where mum and Tim were (Tim's a friend of the family). Had a laugh... Got pictures of the family. And Bagel Girl was working!! She's still totally cool. :) I went over to grandad's house for a little while, showed Mark around. Said goodbye to all the books and the pics and the room... Dad's getting the chance to disconnect from that part of his life, but none of us kids are... Well, I'm not. By the time he goes over, I have to get ready for work. :(

Then Tim went off to change and have a shower at his "knocking shop" - the b and b he was staying at. He came over, and we had Chinese take away for dinner... And lots of alcohol. We played Trivial Pursuit, but then he got too silly and tried eating the pieces so we all kinda called it a night. Mark thought Tim was cool, which is a good thing. :)

Sunday, I was getting dressed after having a shower, and I just got really sad. Mark and I went out town, got him some fags (yuck), got me some chocolate ice cream (tasted so good, but made me feel sick afterwards), got home, dad raised his voice and I just burst into tears. So I explaiened why and dad was really understanding. I watched a lot of NCIS that weekend. I think I've hooked my family. Saturday night, me, Jake, Ru and mum were all sat in the tv room watching NCIS. It was fun. :) Kinda like bonding sessions you see in family movies when they sit together.

So yeah, recap. I miss my grandad, mourning is not fun, I love Mark and I have hooked almost everyone in the house onto NCIS.

Work sucked yesterday. I didn't start fucking packing up until 5:35, didn't leave the shop until 5:55... I usually leave at like 5:40. WTF man, WTF? And now we have to wheel a fucking chest freezer AND a fridge freezer out each morning and bring them in each night. What the bloody fuck is with that? I have enough trouble bringing in the fucking wire bins that hold all the crappy shoes that go outside... I now have to start packing shit up at like quarter past five, which means I need to do all the eBay stuff before then, which usually is fine, but Mondays are killer so I basically use all my afternoon eBaying stuff, not cleaning/sorting stuff out/serving customers/killing my eyes with sporks. I hate fucking lugging kitchen appliances in and out of a fucking building. If I wanted to do that, I'd get a drivers licence and ask for Russ' job. Urgh.

I told Wendy I was almost crying on Sunday (cause I saw them in the shop so I went in to say hi and all), and she said she could see that my eyes were red and puffy.

HOW THE FUCK COULD SHE SEE?! I HAD FUCKING SUNGLASSES ON! DARK SUNGLASSES!!!

I would ask advice from Wendy, my boss. She's been self employed for ages, and she's done well for herself. She always has good advice (not just business type things) and she explains things in a way that don't make me feel like so much of an idiot when I say, 'Actually, can you explain it again?' She's like a really cool teacher, only actually way cooler... She's awesome. :D

Seagulls just flew over our little cul de sac (and I only call it that because our street has a dead end but a place to turn around).

I'm making 100 NCIS icons for 10x10variated but they're mostly Jenny, Ziva, Abby and Gibbs... It's not that I don't like Ducky, McGee and Tony (love Ducky, McGee and Tony) but I just can't seem to icon them... I wanna make an animated icon of Tony's lip quivvering at the end of the episode before SWAK (Hometown Hero, thank god for French NCIS fans who cap episodes), but if you make it small it wouldn't be so funny... So maybe I can fake an ending of scene (when it goes all desaturated)... Man, seeing it go from Blue!Tony (in SWAK) to Grey!Tony was odd, cause the lighting changed.

So yeah, finally watched the whole of Twilight... And all of SWAK. I'm very happy. Next time I get DVDs out, it shall be season 3, and I'll get it when I have dosh and a weekend out of the shop.

Now, I'm gonna go make more icons... I'm on animated ones and I can't do scene ones cause my animation program is eeeeeevil!

Damn my cousin and damn Lauren Holly for that yummy red hair she has. It's all my cousin's fault. When I was younger there was no-one with hair like her, no-one! Just seeing pictures of her when she was younger makes me remember how jealous I was of her. She was strong, and chock full of confidence... When I wasn't scared of her I just loved her to bits. Totally and without reason. Unconditional. Course, if she ever read this I'd kinda just die of embarrassment.

But red hair has always just been a symbol of strength, and confidence, and knowing what to do. So damn my cousin, damn Lauren Holly as Jenny Shepard and damn me not having red hair.

So my portable hard drive turned up today... When I was out, so they couldn't deliver it, so mum had to go pick it up. Urgh! The flipping sorting office is on the other side of town. Usually I wouldn't mind the walk, but I was already late for work and I needed to get a perscription (which took another 15 mins because the nurse said 'It would be ready in the afternoon' but she didn't say specifically how ready, so I went to the two flipping pharmacies before getting the actual paper because I am the queen of assumptions, and everyone should know that). So I'm going into work a quarter of an hour earlier. Cause I get paid by the hour. Damn that stuff.

But yeah, moving stuff onto the hard drive... It got sold as a 250GB but because of filing system and stuff like that it's only 232GB. Sure, it's only a teen tiny fraction of it, but if you're gonna advertise as 250GB, you would think that all 250GB would be usable! I know, bitching for no reason, but it feels good.

Went to Aber this morning with Jake (he's lost the card that has his National Insurance number on it, and how the hell is he supposed to get a job if he doesn't know what it is?) and we got a form from the Job Center (who are still all utter pillocks except for the security dude, who helped us), then we had brunch from KFC. It was a lot nicer than I expected, and Rudie had the last bite (she had prom last night so she crashed at her friend's house and her and all her friends met me at the bus). I had a brill travel back from Aber (I love gossipy teens). :D

I really hate one of the women at work though. She just left a bloody chocolate wrapper behind one of the card readers! The bin was by her fucking feet!!! It's not that fucking hard to miss! I have such issues with her it's hard to begin. Few months back I wouldn't talk to her, cause she would basically repeat what I said verbatim to the boss. So I refused to talk to her. Kinda makes me a bit of an attention whore, but, like a month, month and a half back, I went in and the door actually slammed before she turned around to look at me. Proper slammed. I must have looked like a bulldog licking piss from a nettle cause I was so pissed off. If I had done that, she would have gone running up to the boss and tattling on me. I haven't breathed a word to it to the boss but I'm so just biding my time. I can hold a grudge longer than a camel could spit...

Gods, all I seem to do recently is bitch. No wonder I don't get on well with people. After a while people just seem to annoy me. Random strangers who come into the shop annoy me... Especially if they can't control their kids! Spank them, they're misbehaving! I just wanna head slap so many of them for their stupid noisy kids! I'm gonna be no better when I have my own kids, I'll think the sun'll shine out of their asses, but fucking hell, if your kid is screaming the place down, you don't ignore it, you punish them, even if it's a row. Why won't people take responsibility?!

Oh! I've been reading!!! Absolute shocker I know, but I've just read a really good book by Adele Geras called A Hidden Life, and it's really good. I was really happy for the lead character by the end (and could kinda understand her relationship with her grandmother, which wasn't great). Now I'm reading The Time Traveller's Wife. OMG. It's so good... I'm up to the part where sixteen year old Clare asks 32 year old Henry to help her punish a guy and the tiny bit after it was so sweet and gods I love the book already. I hadn't realised how much I had read until it was 5:15 and too late for me to start trying to get the comp to go into safe mode and defrag (it just won't open up the computer profile when it's in safe mode). So that'll get read tomorrow. monnie_doggett I love you for just going on about this book. It is so worth it.

Meh. I'm gonna go and make some NCIS icons.

So, I've finished season 1 of NCIS. It's actually not that bad (finally watching the first ep with Ari flipping ROCKED!!!) I kinda squeed like a little girl when McGee came on (I love him, he's cute) and got the whole 'Ah, Kate's old sketch book' when she drew the face of some fake commander, and the characatures of Abby and Tony. It rocked. But creepy how Gibbs dreamt of Kate on the slab with a bullet through the head. They probs made it like that cause of like coincidents and stuff like that (and how they are never coincidences, but someone evil reading your mind!)

Still love Ziva more though.
